PETG is a transparent, amorphous copolyester. The common comonomer for PETG is 1,4-cyclohexanedimethylethanol (CHDM, Cylclohexylenedimethylene), which is called polyethylene terephthalate-1. 4-cyclohexanedimethanol ester. It is a product of polycondensation of terephthalic acid (PTA), ethylene glycol (EG) and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) by transesterification. Compared with PET, 1,4 - Cyclohexane dimethanol comonomer, which has more ethylene glycol comonomer than PCT. Therefore, the performance of PETG is quite different from that of PET and PCT. PETG sheet has outstanding toughness and high impact strength, its impact strength is 3~10 times that of modified polyacrylate, and it has a wide processing range, high mechanical strength and excellent flexibility, compared with PVC transparency. High, good gloss, easy to print and environmentally friendly.
The advantages of PETC:
1. PETG plastic bottles have high transparency, high impact resistance and high chemical resistance, and are widely used in the packaging of high-grade cosmetics. At present, PETG squeezes out large-capacity plastic bottles.
2, PETG plastic bottles have FDA certification, can be safely used for food packaging.
3. For the manufacturers of plastic bottles, most of the current plastic bottles use the injection-blowing process. The injection-blowing process is to first make the preforms and then blow out the bottles. It must open two sets of molds, the development cost is relatively high, and the process is complicated. . The extrusion blowing process has lower development costs, simple process and short molding cycle.
